I have never been much of a goal oriented person, but last week I wrote a list down of ones I have for this year. (And wanted to share them here too!) These aren’t all my goals but felt like I wanted document them on the blog. 🙂
- Show gratitude
I’ve grown to discover just how incredibly important this is for growing personally (and professionally too). Every day I think of a least a few things I’m grateful for.
- Be present
Some days I feel I’m mentally distracted or just distracted with to do lists I forget to slow down and be present and enjoy time with Ryan or the kids. I want to be as much in the moment as possible and not always look towards “the next best thing”.
- Believe anything is possible
Through listening to more podcasts and reading books, I’ve cracked the surface at the reality that you can go after something and get it. It is not impossible. All too often I think society and negativity will push us down to believe we can’t achieve a certain goal, or own a business, or go after your dreams and turn them into career.
- Grow myself
I plan to read more personal development books and listen to more podcasts. I’ve found it feeds my soul and keeps my mind in a positive place. I love hearing stories of all these amazing people who decided what they wanted in life and went for it, despite hurdles that were thrown at them or oppression they faced.
- Be daring
I want to do things that are exciting and push the limits of my comfort zone. I think in order to grow we need to not overthink everything and just dare to be better or take or work towards what we can have in life.
- Be consistent in exercise and eating healthy
Ever since Leah was born it has been trickier to keep a schedule for exercise; along with toward the end of the day just eating whatever you want, rather choosing the best option for food. (I don’t know exactly why that is, 4 kids are easier than 3! Even numbers I suppose 😉 ) I am determined to get into the best shape I’ve ever been in.
- Grow Rachel Said. This blog has become a passion of mine and my goal is to grow and expand it.
- Create a vision board. I’m actually in the process of doing this. I’ve never done this before and am excited to do it!
- (Attempt to) wake up earlier than the kids to get some work done so I can be more present when I am with them during the day.
I think this year will be really exciting and am going to enjoy the ride as it unfolds. 🙂 What are some goals you’ve set for yourself?
